How to Read a Blockchain Explorer
A blockchain explorer is a website that lets you inspect public information recorded on a blockchain. It can help you understand a transaction without connecting your wallet.
Start with the transaction ID, sometimes called a transaction hash. Search for it in a trusted explorer for the network used.
The results may show the sending and receiving addresses, transaction status, block information, fees, and asset movements. Different networks and explorers present these details differently.
A pending transaction has not yet been included in the way the network requires. A confirmed transaction has been included, while the meaning of finality depends on the blockchain.
On smart-contract networks, the transaction status and the token movements can be separate parts of the page. Read both. A failed execution may still have consumed a network fee.
An explorer helps answer what happened on-chain. It does not guarantee that an exchange has credited your account or that the recipient is trustworthy.
Public addresses are not the same as verified personal identities. Labels and token names can also be misleading.
For beginners, practice with a public example transaction first. You should not need to share a private key, recovery phrase, or wallet signature just to view public blockchain information.
